Obituary of Marianne B. Carter

Marianne B. "Mary" Carter, age 76, of Syracuse, New York died Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at home with her loving family by her side. Marianne was born September 12, 1927 in Sorghof, Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Adolfe and Katerina Schneider. She married Bernie Carter in Dachau, Germany in 1946 and enjoyed a wonderful and loving marriage for 57 years. She was the Vice President of Carter Interiors, Inc., working for many years beside her loving husband Bernie. She was also the owner and operator of Mary?s Stop N Shop. Marianne was a tower of strength, support, understanding and limitless love for her family. She was very civic minded and took great pride in her American citizenship. Survivors: her husband of 57 years, Bernie Carter; two daughters, Helene Carter-Crouse of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Catherine Damiano of Syracuse, New York; five grandchildren, Shane Carruthers, Tracey Carruthers, Billie Jeanne Crouse, Russell Damiano and Leigh Damiano; three great grandchildren, 40 nieces and nephews, and countless friends in Syracuse, Florida and in Europe. She was predeceased by her brother, Herbert Schneider from Austria. Services: Saturday, November 8, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., Syracuse with Father Raymond B. Wood officiating. Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York. Calling Hours: Friday, November 7, 2003, 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York, 13205.
