Obituary of Joan Smith Cornish

Joan Smith Cornish, age 65, of Nedrow, New York, died Thursday, June 23, 2005 at Community General Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Joan was born August 29, 1939 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Harold Sr. and Noreen (Giblin) Smith. She was a graduate of Central Technical Institute and was a substitute teacher for the Onondaga Central School District. She was a member of Nedrow Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, Onondaga County Auxiliary, LAFASNY, an avid Bingo player and enjoyed scrapbooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Cornish, February 9, 2001. Joan is survived by two daughters, Karen L. Davis of Oviedo, Florida and Robin (Lee) Launt of Nedrow, New York; two sons, Robert D. Cornish of Clay, New York and Russell M. Cornish of Nedrow, New York; three sisters, Maureen Eddicus of Constantia, New York, Jean Baker of Jamesville, New York and Kathy Cranston of Pompey, New York; one brother, Harold Smith of Nedrow, New York; three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Services: Saturday, June 25, 2005, 8:30 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home and 9:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 4845 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated. Burial: Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 4069 Howlett Hill Road, Syracuse, New York.
