Obituary of Eveline A. Gates

Eveline A. Gates, 76, of LaFayette, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 7^th with her family by her side. Born in Olching, Germany, daughter of Trudy and Joe Nagy. She settled in Syracuse, New York and was a nurse for more than 30 years.  Eveline radiated Christ’s love through her hospitality and generosity.

Eveline was predeceased by, her father Joe Nagy; husband, Lewis Gates; son of her heart, Freddy Passett; siblings, John and Brenda Donahue.

She is survived by, her mother, Trudy Nagy; 3 daughters, Wendy Jachim, Tina Passett and Kirstine Gates; 1 son, Scott Gates; 3 granddaughters; Alyssa and Alexis Passett and Morgan Jachim; 5 grandsons; Matthew, Grant and Merrit Gates, Ryan and Logan Allsop; 1 great- grandson; Lawson Spratt; 3 sisters; Linda and Alice Donahue and Cathy Thomason; 1 brother Mike Donahue; a plethora of nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Calling Hours will be held from 11AM to 1PM Saturday, Jan. 13^th at Ballweg and Lunsford Funeral Home, 2584 Field Lane LaFayette, NY 13084.

A memorial service will follow at 1PM at the funeral home.

The family would like to give great thanks to the ICU nurses and respiratory therapists that cared for Eveline at Upstate Community Hospital who showed extreme compassion and empathy.
