Obituary of Cynthia Lee Thibert (Naylor)

Cynthia Lee Thibert (Naylor) of Syracuse, passed away quietly at the age of 67 on Saturday, September 23, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at Upstate University Hospital. Throughout her life, as it is with many, she endured hardships that seriously affected her health, and ultimately it was this series of illnesses that resulted in her passing.

Cindy was born on October 12, 1955, the daughter of Evelyn and Arthur Naylor, and grew up in Syracuse, the fourth in line in a large and boisterous family of 4 sisters, 3 brothers, and numerous pets, including her dog, Teddy. Cindy wasn’t really drawn to a particular career path, choosing instead to become a homemaker. She married young and spent many years with her husband, Bill, her two children, Jodie, and Bill Jr., and of course, pets.

During this time, Cindy enjoyed camping trips to Black Lake, going to drive-in movies, and baking like crazy at Christmas, concocting a variety of delicious cookies and creating boxes of them to hand out to her siblings and their families. In keeping house, Cindy had a love for gardening and a super green thumb which enabled her to fill her home with the most amazing house plants ever!

In her later years, her interests turned to spending time with her kitties and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, of which she was very proud.

In Cindy’s passing, she leaves behind her children, Jodie Lee Towne and William Thibert, Jr., five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, her mother, Evelyn Naylor, siblings, Linda Mirra, Marilyn Benjamin, Doug Naylor, Nancy Motondo, Kathy Naylor, Chris Naylor, Pat Naylor, and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom wish her peace on her final journey.
