Obituary of James E. Irwin

James E. Irwin, 86, of The Valley died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Loretto following a long illness. Jim owned and operated Jim Irwin Graphics in Syracuse, New York prior to that he worked many years at Syracuse Type Setting. Jim had numerous interests and enjoyed a variety of activities including ballroom dancing, golfing, the lottery and entering any and all sweepstakes. "Mr. Jim" would always have popsicles, fudgies or ice cream available for the neighborhood children. He was a former member and treasurer of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. He was also a US Army veteran. He was predeceased by his wife the former Constance M. Byrns who died in 2001. Surviving are sons, Mark (Alice) Irwin and Luke Irwin; daughters, Janet (Edmund) Pizon and Brenda (Glenn) Irwin-Murdock; grandchildren, Amanda (Thomas) Bezigian, Jocelyn Feldmeth, Elena Irwin and Benjamin Bronson; great-grandchildren, Violet, Frederick, Aviva and James Damon and his grand-dog, Ned. Calling hours will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York 13205. Burial and services will be private.
