Obituary of Harold Newell Bacon

Harold Newell Bacon, age 85, of Syracuse, New York died Friday, August 2, 2002 at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Syracuse. Mr. Bacon was born September 24, 1916 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Newell and Estella Bacon. He worked for many years for Syracuse Rigging Company. He was a 55-year member of Iron Workers Local 60. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Marie (Jennings) Bacon in 1984, a son, Francis R. Bacon in 1995 and a daughter Joan Louis Sharlow in 1999. He was a loving Father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He would help anyone and he always put his family and friends first. He is survived by one daughter: Delores A. Bacon from Baldwinsville, New York; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren. Funeral: Monday, August 5, 2002, 7:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., Pastor Karen Boucher officiating.
