Obituary of Raymond J. Millett

Raymond J. "Pop" Millett, Sr., age 90, of LaFayette, New York died Monday, February 24, 2003 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Raymond was born February 11, 1913 in Volney, New York, the son of Joseph and Alice (Soper) Millett. He retired in 1978 from Crouse Hinds, Syracuse, New York after 40 years. He was a member of the 25 Years Club at Crouse Hinds, a member of Atonement Lutheran Church and a former member of C.C.C. He loved to work on cars and he was very mechanical. He often helped the neighborhood children fix their broken toys. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bennett Millett, who died in 1994. He is survived by two daughters, Donna (Harold Supper) Bearden of Dewitt, New York and Barbara (David) Fox of LaFayette, New York; son: R. John (Rose) Millett Jr. of Deerfield Beach, Florida; sister-in-law, Eloise Millett of LaFayette, New York; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral: Saturday, March 1, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., LaFayette with Pastor Nelson Gaetz officiating. Spring Burial: Saturday, May 10, 2003, 10:00 a.m. in LaFayette Rural Cemetery, Route 11, LaFayette, New York.
