Obituary of Terry Edgar Shetler

Terry Edgar Shetler, age 56, of Tully Farms Road, Tully, New York died Monday, March 3, 2003 at home. Terry was born December 29, 1946 in LaFayette, New York, the son of Casper E. and Beatrice V. (Downs) Shetler. He was a graduate of Tully High School and SUNY Cortland. He was involved in the insurance industry for over 30 years. He most receantly worked as an account manager at Reagan Agency in Marcellus, New York. He previously worked at Ladds Agency, North Syracuse, New York, Hatch-Leonard, Inc., and Travelers/Aetna where he worked for 22 years. He served in the Army during the Vietnam war. He was a member of Tully Volunteer Fire Department for 2 years and a member of LaFayette Volunteer Fire Department for 14 years where he was captain of the ambulance. He was a communicant of St. Leo?s Church, Tully, New York. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian in 1977 and his brother, Thomas C. in 1991 Mr. Shetler is survived by his wife of 26 years, the former Margaret "Peggy" Duffy; his parents of Tully, New York and one sister, Judith A. Baker of Valatie, New York. Funeral: Friday, March 7, 2003, 9:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., and 10:00 a.m. in St. Leo?s Church, 10 Onondaga Street, Tully, New York where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Father Louis Aiello. Spring burial will be in South Onondaga Cemetery, Makyes Road, South Onondaga, New York.
