Obituary of Joan S. Johnson

Joan S. Johnson, 64, of Syracuse, New York died Thursday, May 1, 2003 at home. Joan was born October 30, 1937 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Mitchell and Rebecca S. (Jones) Dorns. She graduated from Vocational High School. She worked for New York Bell as an operator, General Electric as an Assembler and Union Steward and she retired from Penny Curtis Bakery. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald D. and Rosanne Jones; two nieces, Ronna L. Bowman and Tamra Rood; five nephews, Michael, Christopher, Thomas and Timothy Jones and Daniel Gomon; her companion, Bobby Anderson; two lifelong friends, Pearl Johnson and Lorraine Tisdell; 18 great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral: Tuesday, May 6, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, 940 Comstock Avenue, Syracuse. Calling Hours: Monday, May 5, 2003, 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York, 13205. Contibutions may be made to the Boys and Girls Club, 375 W.
