Obituary of Glenn M. Porter

Glenn M. Porter, age 84, of Onondaga Hill, New York and formerly of LaFayette, New York died Friday, May 30, 2003 at home. Glenn was born September 16, 1918 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Claude and Georgia (Ryle) Porter. He was a graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy. He retired from Allied Chemical in 1984 following 30 years of service as a mechanic and concurrently operated the family farm. He was a communicant of St. Michael?s Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen A. who died in 1987 and a son Michael who died in 1960. His greatest joy was following the lives of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, boasting of their accomplishments. His deep love of family and friends will always be remembered. Mr. Porter is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Glenda M. and Ronald Nabewaniec of Canastota, New York and Kay E. and Scott Moberg of Greenfield Center, New York; four sons and their wifes, Daniel J. and Kathe Porter of Dewitt, New York, John P. and Kelly Porter of Lyons, New York, Stephen D. and Mireya Porter of Dewitt, New York and Richard C. Porter of Phoenix, Arizona; a dear friend, Marie Harrieger; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral: Tuesday, June 3, 2003, 9:15 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. and 10:00 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, 4782 W. Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, New York where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Father Henry Pedzich. Burial: St. Agnes Cemetery, 2315 South Avenue, Syracuse, New York.
