Obituary of Samuel Perry

Samuel Perry, age 88, of Syracuse, New York and formerly of Rome, New York died Friday, June 27, 2003 at home. Samuel was born October 9, 1914 in Rome, New York, the son of James S. and Mary (Lomascolo) Perry. He was a 1935 graduate of Rome Free Academy and a 1939 graduate of the College of Environmental Science & Forestry and was a past president of their alumni association. He was the general manager of New York State Parks, Central Region for 50 years. He was a communicant of St. James Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Trolan Perry in 1986, a son, Richard J. Perry in 2000 and a sister, Frances Zanko in 1962. Mr. Perry is survived by one daughter, Patricia A. Taylor of Syracuse, New York; four sisters: Vincenza Messineo and Jessie Hodkinson both of Rome, New York, Stella Beaumier of West Brook, Maine and Josephine Raschke of Granite Bay, California; two brothers, James R. Perry of Rome, New York and Joseph J. Perry of Roanoke Park, California; one granddaughter, Kimberly Roy of Fulton, New York; two grandsons, David Taylor and Thomas Taylor both of Syracuse, New York; three great-grandchildren, Thomas, Collin and Lanie Taylor; and his dear companion, Belle Gott of Syracuse, New York. Funeral Service: Monday, June 30, 2003, 11:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 4845 S. Salina Street, Syracuse where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Father Raymond B. Wood. Interment Service: Monday, June 30, 2003, 2:00 p.m. in St. John?s Cemetery, Rome, New York. Friends may call Sunday, June 29, 2003, 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S.
