Obituary of William J. LaFave

William J. LaFave, age 88, of Syracuse, New York died Friday, August 29, 2003 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, New York. William was born February 3, 1915 in Faust, New York, the son of Joseph and Ella (Leroux) LaFave. He retired from LeMoyne College in 1977 following 30 years of service in the Maintenance Department. He was a communicant of St. James Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen on August 19, 1988. William is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Gerald Ward of Syracuse, New York; son, William J. LaFave Jr. of Tupper Lake, New York; brother, John LaFave of California; two sisters, Alice Windsor and Dora Gaglio both of Syracuse, New York; three granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. Services: Thursday, September 4, 2003, 8:15 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. and 9:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 4845 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York with Father Daniel J. O'Hara officiating. Graveside Service: Thursday, September 4, 2003, 2:00 p.m. in St. Alphonse Cemetery, Tupper Lake, New York.
