Obituary of Jane B. Massey

Jane B. Massey, age 80, of Syracuse, New York died Friday, November 28, 2003 at Iroquois Nursing Home, Jamesville, New York. Jane was born September 18, 1923 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Harry and Anne (Muirhead) Lumsden. She was a graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy. She was a professional model. She was a maitre d? for the Yates Hotel in the English Dining Room and Steak and Rib Room. She then worked for Community General Hospital as a unit clerk, retiring in 1983. She was the first president of the Onondaga Valley Little League Auxiliary and a charter member of the American Legion Post 1468 Women?s Auxiliary. She was an avid golfer and bowler for the Community General Hospital League. Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore H. Massey, Sr., July 12, 1997. Mrs. Massey is survived by her daughter, Anna M. Massey of Syracuse, New York; one son, Theodore H. Massey II of Syracuse, New York; one sister, Rita Waldron of Central Square, New York and four grandchildren. Funeral: Tuesday, December 2, 2003, 12:00 noon at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., with Father Raymond B. Wood officiating. Burial: Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 4069 Howlett Hill Road, Syracuse, New York.
