Obituary of Ruth B. Jamison

Ruth Baker Jamison, 88, died Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at Vivian Teal Howard Rehabilitation Health Care Facility, Syracuse, New York where she had been a resident for the past five years and was lovingly cared for. Ruth was born November 10, 1915 in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of David Lincoln and Laura Belle (Brodbeck) Baker. She graduated from Harris Teacher?s College and attended graduate school at Washington University in St. Louis. She taught elementary school in Illinois for several years. She was a member of Park Central Presbyterian Church in Syracuse where she taught Sunday School. She was a friend of Atonement Lutheran Church and a volunteer at University Hospital in Syracuse. She was active in the Democratic Party in Minnesota, New Jersey and New York State. She was an accomplished pianist and she enjoyed going to the Symphony, the Opera and the Theatre. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Reverend Doctor Albert L. Jamison who died in 1986, a sister, Florence Baker Smith who died in 2003 and a brother, David Baker who died in 1988. Survivors: her daughter, Ann Jamison of Syracuse New York; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Signe Nelson Jamison of Syracuse, New York; two granddaughters, Amanda and Emelia Jamison, two nephews, three nieces, several great nieces and great nephews. Services: Private. Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York.
