Obituary of Mary F. Stearns

Mary F. Stearns, 86, of Radison, New York died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Mary was born August 8, 1917 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, the daughter of Roy N. and Mary E. (Moss) Wright. She was Queen of Festival of States in 1926 and represented the Miss America Contest as Miss Massachusetts in 1927. She retired many years ago after being employed at Abajian Dry Cleaners. Mrs. Stearns is survived by her two daughters, Ellen Arbogast and Kathy Cavallo both of Nedrow, New York; one sister, Gerry Stevens of North Syracuse, New York; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by her husband Clyde A. Stearns in 1952. Funeral Services: Friday, March 5, 2004, 8:30 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home and 9:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 4845 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Monsignor Robert Davern. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery, 4100 E. Genesee Street, Dewitt, New York.
