Obituary of Sally M. McDonnell

Sally M. McDonnell, 76, of LaFayette, New York died Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Loretto in Syracuse, New York. Sally was born May 15, 1928 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Ormonde McCormack and Ethel Palmer. She was a graduate of Goodyear Burlingame School, Colby College in 1949 and Syracuse University in 1959. She retired as a 1st grade teacher from the Syracuse City School District in 1988 after 28 years. She taught at Porter and Salina Elementary Schools and was locally and nationally recognized for her excellence in teaching. She was a member of Syracuse and New York State Teachers Associations. She was preceded in death by a brother Dr. Richard McCormack in 2003. Sally is survived by one son, William "Sandy" McDonnell of LaFayette, New York; two sisters, Patricia VanderBogart of Palmano Beach, Florida and Kathleen McCormack of LaFayette, New York; cousin, Kathleen Gongora of Syracuse, New York; best pal, Flo Williams of Tully, New York; several nieces and nephews.
