Obituary of Isaiah Ike" Williams

Isaiah "Ike" Williams, 76, of Brighton Towers and formerly of 201 Webster Avenue, both in Syracuse, New York died Saturday January 15, 2005, at Loretto in Syracuse. Isaiah was born July 16, 1928 in Aiken, South Carolina, the son of Smart and Willie Mae Williams. He retired in 1989 after 32 years from Van Duyn Home & Hospital as a Laundry Supervisor. He was an avid deer and small game hunter, fisherman and he enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Linda Hogan, December 20, 2004. Ike is survived by his wife of 31 years, the former Zelda Doolittle; four sons, Gregory and Richard McCormick both of of Charlotte, North Carolina, Melvin Williams and Isaac Elmore both of Syracuse, New York; three stepsons, Miles Barnes of Elmira, New York, Howard Lockwood of Palmetto, Florida and Clifton Lockwood of Syracuse, New York; two stepdaughters, Roxanna Eaton of Bradenton, Florida and Jacqueline Zook of Syracuse, New York; one brother and his wife, Alex and Bettye Williams of Aiken, South Carolina; two aunts, Lena Plush and Effie Mays both of Aiken, South Carolina; 30 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services: Wednesday, January 19, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York.
