Obituary of Matthew Jacobs

Matthew Jacobs, 56, of 204 Howard Street, Syracuse, New York died Saturday, February 12, 2005 at Crouse Hospital. Matthew was born January 12, 1949 in Syracuse, New York. He received his GED from Central Tech High School and attended Syracuse University. He was employed as a machine operator at Ranger Textile and formerly worked at Carrier and Crouse Hinds. He was an Army veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of the Turtle Clan and American Legion. He enjoyed bowling and was formerly in a league at Strike N Spare and he played softball with the Syracuse Recreational League. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman Edward Jacobs in 1968 and Jane Leona (Bennett) Jacobs in 1997; two brothers, Sherman Jacobs in 2004 and Tyrone Hill in 1968. Matthew is survived by his wife of 33 years, Deborah Hill Jacobs; one sister, Linda Stout of Syracuse, New York; one brother, Wayne Bush of Onondaga Nation; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Services: Wednesday, February 16, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Sharon Schmit officiating. Burial: Onondaga Nation Cemetery.
