Obituary of Stanley C. Smith

Stanley Carl Smith, 84, of Dansville, New York died Wednesday, February 23, 2005 in Sayre, Pennsylvania. Stanley was born February 29, 1920 in Syracuse, New York the son of Carl and Mildred (Ford) Smith. He retired in 1983 as a Systems Analyst from Itek in Rochester, New York after 10 years. He served his country in WW II as a Navy radioman in the South Pacific. He loved football, baseball, gardening and reading, but his greatest joy in life was in caring for his wife and family. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Smith of Skaneateles, New York. Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Helen Lorraine (Diringer) Smith; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Robert Falter of Bridgeport, New York, Diane and Duane Bowen of Avon, New York and Jeannine Cork of Wayland, New York; sons and daughter-in-law, Garry and Robin Smith of Athens, Pennsylvania and Brian Smith of Prattsburgh, New York; 19 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a special brother in spirit, Freddy Eliott of Gettysburgh, Pennsylvania.
