Obituary of Clarissa I. Crangle

Clarissa I. Fowler Crangle, 82, of Syracuse, New York passed away at her home on Thursday, April 28, 2005 surrounded by her family. Clarissa was born May 31, 1922 in Fair Haven, New York, the daughter of Harry C. and Blanche (Demerst) Fowler. She graduated from Fair Haven High School and attended Geneseo State University. She married James Robert Crangle on August 2, 1944 in Portsmouth, Virginia. He predeceased her in 1974. A resident of the Valley for 60 years, she was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and a former member of the Twins and Triplets Club. Claire especially loved her family and her home. Clarissa is survived by her six daughters, Barbara A. (Thomas) Planz, of Olive Bridge, New York; Betty J. (David) Murphy of Centerport, New York; Kathleen H. "Frieda" (Gus) Sidou of Holt, Michigan; Marianne (Roland) Christy of Old Forge, New York; Annette (Michael) Fekete of Washington, DC and Jeanette (Richard) Beers of Rockville, Maryland; six sons, Thomas J. of Las Vegas, Nevada; Charles H. (Lisa) of Orlando, Florida; Robert J. (Janet) of Syracuse, New York; David P. (Sharon) of Silverthorne, Colorado; John Paul (Mary) of Syracuse, New York and William D. (Valorie) of Dillon, Colorado. She had 27 grandchildren and two great grandchildren and is also survived by two sisters, Marilyn Wheeler and Beverly Barry, both of Hannibal, New York; several nieces and nephews and many loving friends. She was predeceased by her brother Harry Fowler and a granddaughter, Sara Fowler Crangle. Services: Saturday, April, 30, 2005, 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 300 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York. Burial: Onondaga Valley Cemetery, 2500 Valley Drive, Syracuse, New York.
