Obituary of Bernard F. Bernie" Puglisi

Bernard F. Puglisi, Sr., 75, of 139 Conifer Dr., Syracuse, New York died Tuesday, June 21, 2005. He was a loving husband and father. Bernard was born January 5, 1930 in Binghamton, New York, the son of Dominic and Josephine (DeScipio) Puglisi. He was a graduate of North High School in Binghamton and attended college in Washington, DC. He was the owner of Puglisi Real Estate which he operated for over 30 years on the south side of Syracuse. He was branch manager for Darling, Blue Boy and Pride of Utica Ice Cream companies. Bernie was past president of the Valley Men's Club, South Side Business Association, and Onondaga Valley Association. He was a long time member of St. James Church where he served as a member of the parish council and was a member of the Onondaga Central School Board. He served on the Professional Standards Committee for the Greater Syracuse Association of Realtors and on the Assessment Review Board for the City of Syracuse. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Bernie was predeceased by his parents and a brother Dr. Richard Puglisi. Bernie is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Mary Ann Fabian; three brothers, Robert Puglisi of Binghamton, New York, Donald and Ed Puglisi, both of Vestal, New York; two sisters, Dian Fabian of Vestal, New York and Joanne Malinowski of Florida; one daughter and son-in-law, Veronica "Roni" (Phil) Scully of Pittsford, New York; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bernard Jr. (Margaret) Puglisi of Rochester, New York, David (Patty) Puglisi of Liverpool, New York and Joseph (Noele) Puglisi of Onondaga Hill, New York; nine grandchildren, Scott, Greg, Brett, Jake, Luke, Kyle, Nicole, Brittany and Morgan and his mother-in-law, Clara Fabian.
