Obituary of Patrick John Howley II

Patrick John Howley II, 85, of Syracuse, New York died Monday, October 3, 2005 at Community General Hospital, Onondaga Hill, New York. Patrick was born June 1, 1920 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Patrick J. and Cecelia (Fitzmorris) Howley. He graduated from St. Lucy's High School and played on the varsity basketball team. He retired from General Electric in 1983 following 30 years of service as a security guard and he previously worked as a bartender for Connors Bar & Grill. He was a communicant of Most Holy Rosary Church and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp serving in WWII. He was a member of the Tipparary Hill American Legion and enjoyed gardening and fishing. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, the former Shirley Corbett; one son, Patrick Howley III of Liverpool, New York; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Walter Kuryla of Brewerton, New York; one sister, Mary Smith Barnes of Camillus, New York; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Services: Friday, October 7, 2005, 9:15 a.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc. and 10:00 a.m. in Most Holy Rosary, 111 Roberts Avenue, Syracuse, New York. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery, 4100 E.
