Obituary of Ralph M. Olley

Ralph M. Olley, 97, formerly of "The Valley" and Glenwood Avenue in Syracuse, New York, died Saturday, October 15, 2005 in Sebring, Florida where he resided the last 20 years. Ralph was born May 28, 1908 in Syracuse, New York, the son of Edwin A. and Annabel (Kenan) Olley. He was a Class of 1932 graduate of Syracuse University. He retired from the New York State Thruway Authority following many years of service as a toll collector at Exit 39 (State Fair Blvd) and previously worked for Carrier Corp. He was a professional pianist performing with Carl Silfer and alike. He was an U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran serving in WW II. He previously attended Onondaga Valley Presbyterian Church. He was predeceased by a brother, Earl Olley and a sister, Edna Ruth Sherman. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Olley of Marietta, New York; two nieces, Judith Beach of Syracuse, New York and Joanne Rienhardt of Marathon, New York; three nephews, Richard Olley of Deer Field Beach, Florida, Brian Olley of Scarboro, Ontario, Canada and John Sherman of South Meridan, Connecticut; several great nieces and great nephews.
