Obituary of Catherine Conway Braun Matson

Catherine Conway Braun Matson, 86, formerly of LaFayette, New York, died Friday, December 30, 2005 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital in Syracuse, New York. Catherine was born March 1, 1919 in Utica, New York, the daughter of John James and Anna Marie (Arquette) Conway. She was a member of Believers Chapel in Cicero, New York. An avid bowler, she had a wide variety of interests including crafts, sewing, music and dancing. She enjoyed cooking, tending to her plants and was an accomplished artist. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her first husband, R. Paul Braun who died in 1964 and her second husband, John A. Matson who died in 1995. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Mary Komar and Ellen Johnston; two brothers; Frank Conway and Jack "John" Conway. Catherine is survived by her three daughters, Kathleen Braun of Lacey, Washington, Ellen Blum of LaFayette, New York and Christine Koagel of Red Creek, New York; two sons, Paul A. Braun of Zephyhills, Florida and Lawrence Braun of Cardiff, New York; step-daughter, Jackie Colvin of Red Creek, New York; 14 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Graveside Service: Monday, January 2, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 2932 Warners Road, Warners, New York. No calling hours.
