Obituary of Dorothy G. McKibben

Dorothy G. McKibben, 86, of "The Valley" in Syracuse, New York, died Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Dorothy was born November 18, 1919 in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of Harrison and Leah (Gallop) Grossman. She was a life resident of the Syracuse area and retired from the Syracuse Police Department in 1962 following 20 years of service as a crossing guard. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence E. McKibben in January 19, 1993 and her granddaughter, Dory Knapp, November 27, 2005. Surviving are two sons, Gene and Harrison "Harry" McKibben both of Syracuse, New York; one daughter, Pamela Simmons of Onondaga Hill, New York; four grandchildren, Theresa Simmons, April A. Scherl, Richard W. Simmons, Barbara McKibben; six great-grandchildren, Kevin J. Scherl, Robert T. Scherl, Dackota W. Simmons, Guage R. Simmons, Ashley L. Knapp, Craig R. Knapp. Services: Saturday, January 7, 2006, 1:00 p.m. at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Inc., 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, New York.
