Obituary of Julia Westbrooks

Julia Westbrooks, 105, of Syracuse, NY departed this life on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 quietly at home with family members by her side.

She was one of four children born to the late Jessie Tish and Rush Rowell of Florence, Alabama. As an adult, she relocated to Cleveland, Ohio and eventually to Syracuse, NY in 2001.

She was preceded in death by her three brothers; Walker Rowell, Rush Rowell Jr. and James Rowell Sr. Also preceding her in death was her husband Ananais Skipworth Sr. and their three sons; James Skipwoth Sr., Ananias Skipworth Jr. and Charles H. Skipworth Sr.

She entered into matrimony with William Westbrooks who also preceded her in death in 2006.

She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching her favorite TV shows and spending time with family and friends.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, two step children, Deborah Mims and Kenneth (Cassandra) Jamison, both of Syracuse, NY, one Goddaughter, Christine Stevenson of Atlanta, GA and a daughter-in-law Gloria Skipworth of Syracuse, NY and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

A funeral service will be at 11 AM on Thursday, January 13^th at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina St. Syracuse, NY 13205.

Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Florence, Alabama.
