Obituary of Beverly J. Cook

Beverly J. Cook, 84, of LaFayette, passed away on August 8, 2021. She was born in Syracuse in 1936 to the late Ralph and Dorothy (Moser) Reiss, and graduated from LaFayette Central High School. She went on to earn her nursing degree and was employed as an LPN at Crouse Irving Hospital for many years, before retiring.

Beverly enjoyed camping at Paradise Cove in Sylvan Beach for the past 30 years. She was an active member of the LaFayette Fire Dept. and the Ladies Auxilliary. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was her favorite activity, by far. Beverly had a big heart and took in everyone. She was affectionately referred to as “Grandma” by so many.

She is survived by: children, Leon “Mike” Cook, Diana (David) Lamson; seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Leon L. Cook (2017).
