Obituary of James F. Knox

James F. Knox, 71, of Pompey, passed away surrounded by his loving family, on April 20, 2021. He was born in Syracuse in January 1950 to the late John and Ruth (Ray) Knox.

James served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was the proud owner of Knoxie’s Pub in Pompey for over 28 years. Jim enjoyed mowing his lawn, and camping at Junius Ponds in Phelps, NY. He greatly appreciated breakfast with his buddies, and spending time with family.

Jim is survived by: daughters, Nicole (Jim) Belge, Sonji (Robb) Morgan; grandchildren, Jarett, Bradley, Alex, Tanner, and Madison; his loyal furever friend, “Puppy”; brother, Jack (Midge) Knox; sisters, Terry and Jennifer Knox; several beloved nieces, and nephews. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Larry Knox.

The family is forever grateful to the amazing staff at the Syracuse VA, and Upstate Cardiac ICU.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 24 at 1 pm at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, LaFayette. Jim said “to have a festive and joyous get together of his friends to celebrate the good times had by all, at Knoxie’s Pub, on Rt. 20, Pompey” following his funeral service.
