Obituary of Dorothea (Holtz) Woodford

Dotty,age 87, passed away on November 20, 2020. She was born in Eastwood, NY on February 12, 1933. She graduated from St. John the Evangelist High School and Central City Business Institute in Syracuse, NY. She was a homemaker most of her life, but worked several secretarial jobs both before and after raising children. She was especially fond of working for the Rescue Mission. Dotty was a member of Life Church East Syracuse, she enjoyed studying the Bible, traveling, and visiting with her friends and relatives.  She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Thomas R. Woodford; her parents, Carl and Mary Holtz; and her brother, Charles Holtz. Left to cherish her memory are, her children; Mary Gatlin, Kathy (Tim) Perkins, Tom (Brenda) Woodford Jr., Mike (Cindy) Woodford and Lisa (Mark) DeGroat; 15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Life Church East Syracuse, 7125 Collamer Rd., East Syracuse, NY on April 25, 2021. A time of fellowship will begin at 11:45 AM, with services beginning at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rescue Mission.
