I am so very saddened to hear of Marty's passing, yet can rejoice in her being with our Lord. While living across the U.S. from each other, Marty became one of my dearest friends when we became pen pals in probably the 5th grade. We wrote 20 page letters back and forth, about all the fun things we did (I remember her belonging to a rifle club), and sharing all the details of our lives. Later, after we both were married, we exchanged pictures of our children. I remember the letter she wrote telling me of having become a Christian and crying with joy when I read it. Finally my oldest daughter and I were able to fly to New York and meet Jack and their 3 kids. What a fun time! Then a few years later Marty and Jack flew to Montana to visit us. While our letters thinned out as years went by, Marty has always been dear to my heart, and we will spend eternity together! Erik, Steve and Susan, you will be in my prayers as you adjust to the loss of your sweet Mom!
Love to you all, Merry Jayne Nelson
