Obituary of Ethel (Thamis) Chekan

Ethel (Thamis) Chekan November 7, 2020 Ethel (Thamis) Chekan, 96, of Syracuse, passed away on Saturday, Nov 7th. She was a member of St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church where she was an active member for a number of years, especially their Greek Festival.

She is predeceased by her husband, Michael N. Chekan; sister, Alice Welch; and brother, Thomas Thamis.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Chekan and Thomas (Carol) Chekan; two grandchildren, Zoe Chekan and Alex Chekan; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Wednesday, Nov. 11th, 10AM at Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, 4612 S. Salina St. Syracuse, NY.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
