Obituary of Ruth G. Lord

Mrs. Ruth (Peters) Jones, 100, passed away in the morning of May 27, 2020, at Loretto Nursing Home in Syracuse, New York.

Ruth was born in April, 1920, in Schenectady, NY, a daughter of Everett and Mildred Peters, who raised her on a dairy farm in Canton, NY.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Paul Jones; sister Virginia Buckoski; and daughter Sherron Nealy.

Ruth was a wonderful mother and grandmother who put family first and ensured her children and grandchildren were raised in a safe and loving environment. She worked as a Kitchen Designer. Ruth enjoyed spending time with lifelong family and friends, especially at Brantingham Lake in the Adirondacks. She liked to garden, paint, sew and work on other arts and crafts projects.

Ruth is survived by one son, Bob Jones; and one daughter, Suzanne McDougal; six grandchildren, Mike McEligot, Mark McEligot, Michelle Grosso, Peter Jones, Kimberly Nealy and Matthew Nealy; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ruth’s life will be honored during a memorial service at future date when the family can reunite. She will be buried with her husband at Fairview Cemetery in Canton, NY.
