Patricia Rahrle-Kresser

Obituary of Patricia Kathyrn Rahrle-Kresser

On Holy Saturday morning, surrounded by loving family, Patricia Kathryn Rahrle Kresser sewed the last of her seeds and bid us all a fond farewell as she slid into the arms of her Creator.

At her side was her devoted husband and dance partner, Donald Joseph Kresser. “Pat & Don” attended Onondaga Valley High and married in 1952. The years following brought them a family of five children; Jeanne, Steve, John, Ted and Mary Alice, as well as six beloved grandchildren; Colin, Lindsey, Kristopher, Abbey, Justin and Jeremy. Raised in the Roman Catholic faith, the Kresser family were patrons of Our Lady of Hope, the former St. James Parish.

Mrs. Kresser enjoyed singing, in her gardens, in her kitchen and with friends. As a colorist for local photographers (so she could stay home to raise her family), she developed a talent for sewing, particularly quilting. Eventually Pat served as president of The Towpath Quilt Guild, known for charitable work and fabulous quilted designs. Her passion for gardening and color blossomed into a career in floristry. Over many years, she shared her talent for floral arranging with St. James Church.

We will find her in the sweet faces of pansies, in the singing of birds, and whenever we smell cinnamon toast. Our gratitude for the gifts she shared with us as we serve, have touched the greater community.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope, 4845 S. Salina St., Syracuse, NY. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Onondaga County Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. To leave online condolences, please visit www.ballweg-lunsford.com.
