Obituary of Jeffrey Scott Manley

Jeffrey Scott Manley, 47 passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 25, 2018 leaving behind his wife, Kathy Marie Manley; his mother, Gayle (Mark) Wentworth; father, Jim Manley; his twin brother, Jamie Manley; and younger siblings, Sarah (Ryan) Dutch and David (Andrea) Wentworth; his nieces, Alexis, Avery, Maryjane and Evangeline; and nephews, Kingsley and Zigmont whom adore him.

Jeff was a loving husband and son, a doting uncle, and an amazing big brother. He loved his sports and music, was a devoted Syracuse and Chicago Bears fan, an avid lacrosse and softball player, and loved Genesis. Jeff enjoyed the outdoors, especially waterfalls. He loved his family and friends and he always had a moment to catch up, making sure to always put a smile on the face of anyone he encountered.

Not enough words can be said to express the hole that is left behind with Jeff’s unexpected passing. We cling to the many memories and impressions that Jeff engraved in his family, friends, and even strangers. He always carved out time for anyone and everyone, striking up a conversation to find connections with all who knew him and were lucky enough to have him in their lives, even if only for a moment.

These memories help to placate the pain that comes with his being gone and we hold them dear in our hearts. There is a unavoidable space that was created when Jeff left us, it can never be replaced or filled. It is our deepest hope and wish that we can at least move forward with the lessons of kindness and unconditional love that he showed us.

Remember Jeff whenever watching a Bears, SU, or lacrosse game. He thoroughly enjoyed sports and could instantaneously update you on the latest stats, always remembering who your sports team was. He had a strong bond to music and it is our hope that his presence is felt whenever Genesis comes on the radio, so please, turn it up.

What meant most to Jeff was his family and friends, so we also thank each and every one of you for your contributions to what mattered most to him.

Go Bears! Win it SU! And jam on Genesis!
