Obituary of Raymond Schwenn

Raymond J. Schwenn, 94, of Jamesville, New York passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018, at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation Center.   Ray was born in Syracuse and lived in Jamesville for 60 years. After graduating from Assumption Academy, Ray attended Syracuse University. He went on to become a sonar design engineer with General Electric for 27 years before retiring from the Baldwinsville School District as the superintendent of buildings and grounds. Ray proudly served his country in the US Navy, during WWII. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer, as well as a talented painter using oil paints.  Being a sportsman, Ray received such awards as a Medal recipient in archery in the National Senior Games. Ray was a dedicated volunteer member of the Jamesville and LaFayette communities, especially, The LaFayette Game Club and The Jamesville Sportsman Club and a former member of the Hill and Dale Golf League.

He was predeceased by his parents and his wife Bernice.

Survived by: his daughter; Deborah Schwenn-Martin (Rodney O.), brother; Paul Schwenn, grandchildren; Courtney J. and Andrew J. Martin, and several nieces and nephews.      

Services will be private

A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at a later date.
